USD Slide Continues. Gold Hits Record High.

Welcome to this week’s Market Blast Fundamentals where we will look at EURUSD, USDMXN, the S&P 500, the NASDAQ, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, and Gold.

We have to use the Monthly chart to see that Gold has broken resistance from April 2011, with the price of Gold briefly hit $1944 this morning.Screenshot 2020-07-27 at 09.44.26

The US majors continue to show USD weakness based on the faltering American economy, and uncertainty over Coronavirus and US/China trade relations.Screenshot 2020-07-27 at 09.44.43

The Euro is still showing strength but watch for the economic news this week and a possible resurgence of the Coronavirus which has hit Spain in recent days.Screenshot 2020-07-27 at 09.45.22

USDMXN is sitting at key support and we will see if USD weakness will push it below but watch for Quarterly GDP this Thursday.

This will be a big week for Economic News with GDP figures as well from Hong Kong, Germany, the United States, France, the European Union, and Canada.

The most important news of the week with be the US Interest Rate decision and the subsequent FOMC press conference where we will find out more about the Fed’s plans for the US economy and possible stimulus.

As well, keep an eye on the indices this week as many major US corporations will be announcing earnings and, of course, Coronavirus will impact the results.

Don’t forget to register for our next webinar, tomorrow, on trading Economic News Events and you can find this on the Valutrades website under “Education”.

That’s all for now.  Happy trading with Valutrades and we will see you tomorrow.
