Valutrades Market Blast Fundamentals 25 November 2019

Welcome to this week’s Market Blast Fundamentals where we will look at Gold (XAUUSD), USDCAD, the USD in general, NZDUSD, and the Hang Seng Index (HK50).

25 November 2019 Fundamentals

The weekend elections in Hong Kong had an immediate effect on the HK50 with a big jump but keep an eye on the news as we have a long way to go to recover from the big drop earlier in the year.

GBPUSD has opened with a weekend gap after a poll showed the incumbent Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has a good lead over opponents.

The basic fundamental analysis of the Pound is that a possible Labour Government will affect the currency negatively and a Conservative Government will affect it positively, so watch for news and polls up to and including the 12 December election.

All other major currencies have Economic News events this week including Retail Sales and a Central Bank Speech from New Zealand where the NZD is currently showing strength.

We are seeing mixed price action on the major USD Pairs and we need to be aware of many news events Tuesday and Wednesday from Home and Goods Sales, to Consumer Confidence, to GDP, to a speech by Jerome Powell.

USDCAD and the Canadian Dollar crosses will be affected by Crude Oil Inventories and GDP Friday and we see that USDCAD has been trending up all month.

The price of gold is still dropping and we need to watch the next key level of $1450 as global tensions decrease and we get better news on the US/China trade agreement.

That’s all for now. Happy trading with Valutrades and we will see you tomorrow.
